Taiwan: Generation from LNG imports hits all-time high during CNY’25
Taiwan’s power generation from LNG imports reached a record high of 14.5 GWe during the most recent January-February, Chinese New Year period. The growth in generation from LNG occurred in spite of weaker total levels of power load during the holiday period in 2025 compared to past years – a trend that was in line with Taiwan’s slowing GDP growth rate of 1.8% for the 4th quarter of 2024.
